Copyright © www.AspaPhoto.com Glendale Gardens and Woodland features ten acres of gardens and is home to The Horticulture Centre of the Pacific (HCP) at 505 Quayle Road in West Saanich, near the heritage city of Victoria on Vancouver Island. See directions and bus information below.

Glendale Gardens is nestled in a hundred-acre rural conservation park with nature trails, wetlands and bird watching sites. The ten acres of Gardens contain over 10,000 varieties of plants, and include a Native Plant Garden, Children′s Garden, Rhododendron and Heather gardens, Dahlia and Lily beds, Takata Japanese and Zen Gardens, and more.

By BUS

The nearest bus stop is on Viaduct Avenue West and Interurban Road near Camosun College, Interurban Campus. Three Victoria Regional Transit bus routes, 8, 21 and 39, travel to the Interurban campus of Camosun College. For maps, schedules and fares, see the Victoria Regional Transit website.

By BICYCLE

The Greater Victoria Cycling Coalition provides information on cycle paths and routes throughout the region. Route maps for Saanich and other areas are available online. At the Festival, valet parking by donation is provided at Interurban entrance only.

By CAR - Lots of parking available

Vehicle Parking: Easy-to-follow signs will direct you to the nearby parking lot, where volunteers will make sure you find the optimal parking spot. Volunteers will be on-site all day long, although we can not be held liable for the security of your vehicle. Please do NOT leave your pet in your vehicle. Due to warm weather pets may be in distress. We reserve the right to contact the appropriate authorities to remove distressed pets from vehicles.

By BC FERRIES - Then bus/bike/drive

If you are coming to the Festival from the Mainland or the Gulf Islands, you will find ferry schedules for the crossing at the BC Ferries site.

By FERRY from the U.S. - Then bus/bike/drive

If you are coming to the Festival from Anacortes, you will find a ferry schedule on the Washington State Ferries website. After embarking, access HWY 17 (south) from Sidney, then follow the instructions for directions from BC Ferries... If you are coming from Port Angeles, you will find the ferry schedule on the Black Ball Ferry Line website. Once you've docked, follow the instructions from Downtown Victoria to get to the Festival...

From DOWNTOWN VICTORIA

  • NORTH on BLANSHARD ST.; will become HWY 17 (PAT BAY HIGHWAY)
  • Take the ROYAL OAK DRIVE EXIT3
  • LEFT on ROYAL OAK DRIVE
  • (0.6 km/0.4 mi)...RIGHT on WEST SAANICH RD.
  • (1.5 km/1 mi)…LEFT on BEAVER LAKE RD.
  • (0.3 km/0.2 mi)…LEFT on BEAVER RD.
  • Public parking is available off of BEAVER RD. (watch for signs)

    From VICTORIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT/BC FERRIES/SIDNEY

  • Follow signs from airport/ferries/Sidney and head SOUTH towards Victoria on HWY 17 (PAT BAY HIGHWAY)
  • take the ROYAL OAK DRIVE EXIT 11
  • RIGHT on ROYAL OAK DRIVE
  • (0.6 km/0.4 mi)…RIGHT on WEST SAANICH RD.
  • (1.5 km/1 mi)…LEFT on BEAVER LAKE RD.
  • (0.3 km/0.2 mi)…LEFT on BEAVER RD.
  • Public parking is available off of BEAVER RD. (watch for signs)

    From SOOKE

  • Start out going EAST on SOOKE RD./PROVINCIAL RTE 14
  • (21 km/14 mi)…LEFT on VETERANS MEMORIAL PKWY
  • (2 km/1.4 mi)…follow signs to PROVINCIAL RTE 1 / TRANS CANADA HWY south toward Victoria
  • (4 km/2.7 mi)…take the HELMCKEN RD. exit- EXIT 8
  • Left on HELMCKEN RD.
  • (2 km/1.4 mi)…LEFT on INTERURBAN RD.
  • (3 km/1.8 mi)…RIGHT on QUAYLE RD.
  • Watch for signs for Parking/Entrance

    From NORTH OF THE MALAHAT

  • Follow RTE 1/TRANS CANADA HWY SOUTH toward Victoria
  • Take the HELMCKEN RD. exit- EXIT 8
  • Left on HELMCKEN RD.
  • (2 km/1.4 mi)…LEFT on INTERURBAN RD.
  • (3 km/1.8 mi)…RIGHT on QUAYLE RD.
  • Watch for signs for Parking/Entrance

    ACCESSIBILITY

    For your convenience, disabled person parking is provided near the entrance to Glendale Gardens. This lot is accessible from either Beaver Rd or Quayle Rd. It is located on the righthand side of the Garden entrance. Parking in this lot is limited to vehicles that display the disabled person parking permit. This parking lot will also serve as a drop-off location for seniors or any person needing assistance into the gardens.

    There is a wheelchair-accessible ramp for access into the Glendale Gardens. Inside the Gardens there are two main areas of the festival: The Gathering Place and The Village (please see the map for details). A golf cart will be available to transport people needing assistance between The Village and The Gathering Place. There are very accessible crushed gravel paths throughout The Gathering Place suitable for wheelchair, scooter or walker use. The Village is located in a grassy field and may be challenging to access. However, there will be volunteers available for assistance if needed.

    There are three handicapped portable washrooms available at the festival. The first is located near the entrance to the Gardens by the Greenhouse. The second is located near the Soccer Zone in the Children's Village and the third is located in The Village.

    Volunteers will be available throughout the festival grounds if you have any questions or require assistance.
